For Children

Programs and services especially for children.

PBS bannerThe Alexander Public Library welcomes a new library learning corner 'Ready for School'  presented by PBS Kids!

The library was presented with a children's IPad, rug, banner, and PBS kids DVD's.  Sometime in February the library will receive a learning center along with 150 children's books.

"We are pleased to expand these Library Corners to another location in Iowa," said Terry Rinehart, Director of Educational Services at Iowa Public Television.  "Families can spend time together reading books, engaging in hands-on activities and playing online games that support early reading skills like recognizing letters and sounds, and early math skills such as counting and measurement.

The Alexander Public Library offers a complete Children's Section, complete with table and chairs for the children to sit and read, or play while waiting for their parents.

In the summer months the library offers a Summer Reading Program.
